Information Collection and Use

Splitranslate operates as a browser extension designed to help you read and translate foreign language content. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding any data we process.

What Data We Collect

1. Extension Usage Data

The translation processing occurs in real-time. We temporarily process the text you choose to translate in order to provide the bilingual reading layout. We do not store the websites you visit or the full articles you read on our servers.

2. Saved Vocabulary

If you choose to use the "Save to Dictionary" feature, the words you save (along with their context and translation) are stored securely in your cloud account to allow you to review them later or export them to Anki.

3. Account Information

If you create an account to sync your vocabulary across devices, we collect basic profile information (such as your email address) provided by your authentication provider (e.g., Google).

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your saved vocabulary and account information. Your data is never sold to third parties, and it is only used to provide the core functionality of the Splitranslate service.
